A personal ad is a public notice in the newspaper or magazine and is similar to a classified ad but very personal. The Internet or Web has become a popular place for personals ads and is commonly called online dating. The personals are meant to generate romance, friendship, casual, or sexual encounters. They usually include a basic description of the person posting it and their interests which may be true or completely false.
